A Letter from Maa to Devotees in SIRD |

|
|
7 September 2009
Dear and blessed children:
Harih Om Tat Sat. Jai Guru.
I intended writing this e-mail soon after the 3-day video-lecture series ended. I wanted to tell you how wonderful it was to be in your midst for the 3 consecutive days, to see everyone individually and to see every part of the Centre. When our visit got cancelled, for some days I really missed you, our Centre, the Satsangs there and everything, knowing very well that all that happened was for the best. I was particularly pained thinking about the tremendous amount of sadness and disappointment you all would undergo after having waited a whole year for Poojya Swamiji to step into your midst, touching each and everyone’s heart by His radiant smile, benevolent and compassionate glance.

Journey into the Inner Horizon |

If your mind is what imprints the sky, stars, sun and moon, what should be its vastness? Greater than the sky or smaller? It is like the reflecting potential of the mirror, whereby the most distant object is seen inside it. The mirror is material, insentient, whereas the mind is spiritual and sentient.
Sentience is thus the `magic word', the first and last in spirituality. When confused and contaminated, it becomes the mischievous cause of all torments and agitations. When clarified and purified, the same becomes magnificent, contented and expansive – the sentient spatial presence. It becomes the noumenon, the world being the phenomenon.
Spiritual enquiry and introspection, pursuit and perseverance is the esteemed holy journey into this inner sentient horizon, leading you to discover and realize majesty, splendour and magnificence of the noumenon, the Self, to eschew all ambitions, agony and agitation.

The Power of Knowledge |
|
|
|
Feeling of sin, emergence of doubts and inquiries, are all in and from the mind and intelligence. Naturally, their redress must also come from the same internal source.Knowledge which works in the mind and intelligence, alone has the power to resolve all doubts and dissolve all sins. This Knowledge of the Self, when rightly acquired or `realized', will untie the knots of the mind and intelligence. The pressure and distress the mind and intelligence together create will then become extinct. Only Knowledge of the Self can accomplish this task of redemption.

Spiritual seeking presupposes the strength and depth arising from inculcating values, which aim at enlightening the intelligence and enriching the mind, thereby refining behaviour and interaction. In any value pursuit, the intelligence, mind and senses have to act together in a harmonious collaboration. It is such integration that takes the seeker to further heights of inner refinement and elevation. Imbibing values implies elimination of the undesirable traits and incorporation of the desirable ones. The practices, habits and tendencies to be safeguarded against are set forth in this verse. By coming to know of these, one finds enough enlightenment, which must act as compulsion to abide by or adhere to the instructions. From the intelligence, the effects should percolate to the mind and permeate to the senses. Only when all the three levels begin to function in unison, does value become an enrichment. Value enrichment is what makes any society strong and sustainable. Neglect of values will cause the downfall of even an entire civilization. |
