जगदम्ब विचित्र मत्र किं
परिपूर्णा करुणास्ति चेन्मयि ।
अपराधपरम्परावृतं
न हि माता समुपेक्षते सुतम् ॥
– देव्यपराधक्षमापणस्तोत्रम् – ११

jagadamba vicitram-atra kiṃ
paripūrṇā karuṇāsti cen-mayi ।
aparādha-paramparāvṛtaṃ
na hi mātā samupekṣate sutam ।।
– Devyaparādha-kṣamāpaṇa-stotram 11

O the Mother of the universe, what is the wonder here that you show full mercy on me! The mother never condescends to relinquish the son, be he caught up in the spiral of sins, guilt and slips!
