Ma Gurupriya

025 – Who is a True Disciple – 2 | Swamini Ma Gurupriya

1387 Views | 3 years ago

Just as a sculptor creates his masterpiece through repeated chiseling, so too are our inner personalities shaped through repeated listening to the words of our Spiritual Masters. Ma Gurupriya ingrains the four-fold qualities of a true disciple deeper within us, by continuing the same topic with greater emphasis.

External austerities and disciplines will have little impact on our spiritual progress if not commensurate with the cultivation of sadhana chatustaya. Viveka (discrimination), vairagya (dispassion) and mumuksha (yearning for liberation), gradually free us from worldly attractions, but it is the 6-fold treasures that ensure our inner growth and keep us from veering off the path.

With Ma’s guidance we strive to become better students - learning with devotion, humility and openness, giving freedom to our Teachers to provide instruction and correction. Only then can we joyfully proceed with this sacred and divine adventure.
