082 – Meditation – Aim & Limitation Part 1 | Voice of Upanishads | Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

1150 Views | 2 years ago

Nutan Swamiji beautifully describes how the ancient seers of our land, finding the whole world to be changeful and caught within the cause-effect chain, concluded that nothing in the object ken can give them permanent fulfillment in life.

In search of the Ultimate truth they looked within, to find out the subject 'I' who witnesses everything. But, their very effort to look for the subject 'I', made it an object. So, letting go of all their efforts, they finally surrendered to the 'I', and the Self revealed itself. This was the greatest discovery of mankind as it conferred both emotional as well as intelligential fulfillment.

Swamiji enlightens us that our mind, which remains constantly involved in a variety of objects cannot suddenly cooperate with us in meditation. We have to carefully orient our mind towards the meditation throughout the day, with the ultimate aim shining brightly in the background. Only then, the mind will readily withdraw during meditation. Swamiji says Real meditation is not to be done, it automatically dawns.

Swamiji will be discussing 'Voice of Upanishads'. The Global Satsang will be based on Kathopanishad and Mundakopanishad. | Live Satsangs with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST.
